The medal bears the image of Our Lady with the words, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who recourse to Thee," surrounding it. Since that time, devotion to the miraculous medal has spread rapidly throughout the world. Through it and accompanying prayers and novenas, many graces have been given by Mary to her faithful followers. The back of the Miraculous medal features an "M", surmounted by a cross, with the hearts of Mary and Jesus and twelve stars.
